Buffet and Ghost Hunt at Donatello's, Ampthill - January 25th 2025

Donattellos is an award-winning, traditional, family run Italian restaurant in Dunstable Street, Ampthill, one of the towns main thoroughfares, originally the highway between Bedford and Dunstable. The building dates to the late 1700's or early 1800's, it's now difficult to tell as over the last few decades many alterations have taken place. Recent research has revealed the building was originally two cottages with rear extensions connected to the older timber framed house next door, with a large yard of workshops and barns to the rear. One story is the property was small poor house or orphanage in the 1800's. 

Since Donattellos opened in1998 there have been numerous paranormal and unexplained occurrences over a sustained period, witnessed by different family members, staff and customers. These has included moving objects, apparitions of a man in a waistcoat, a lady sitting at a table and a girl at a window. The sounds of children playing and footsteps have been heard when the restaurant been closed and alarms, electrics and door locks have at times malfunctioned. 

The evening will start with a pizza and pasta buffet served upstairs, where the majority of the incidents have taken place. We will then split into three groups around the upstairs rooms. 

Please let us know any food allergies or preferences in a message and if you wish to pre-order your first drink, please also let us know ahead of time. The buffet is included in the ticket price, any drinks or desserts will be charged to you. The food is authentic home cooked Italian fare with many recipes being family ones cooked by the owner chef. You're promised a warm welcome and a hearty buffet. The event is limited to only 18 people, promising to be intimate and exclusive. 

Arrival time is 8.00pm for an 8.30pm start and we will end at no later than 1am.
